Housing & Travel
Are travel costs covered? ✈️
Eligible travel costs may be reimbursed or arranged depending on the assignment. We’ll review options with you before you accept a contract.
Do you provide housing during assignments? 🏠
Yes, housing support is available. Depending on the project, this may be fully furnished accommodations arranged for you, or a housing allowance if you prefer to arrange your own.
Licensing
Do I need a new nursing license for every province? 🪪
Yes. Each province has its own nursing regulatory body and license requirements. For example, Ontario requires registration with the CNO, while BC requires registration with the BCCNM
Will you handle my license application for me?
No, you are responsible for your application. We provide guidance, timelines, and
resource links to help you through the process, but approvals and applications are managed by the provincial regulatory bodies.
Nursing Specialties
What specialties are in highest demand?
We see consistent demand in ICU, ER, OR, PACU, NICU, Mental Health, and Community Care. Needs vary by province — for example, Thunder Bay, Sudbury, and North Bay (Ontario) have strong demand for ER and community health nurses, while BC and Nova Scotia often need ICU and surgical nurses
Can I try a new specialty as a travel nurse?
Most assignments require you to already have experience in that specialty, but there are opportunities to build skills in related areas.
Remote & Northern Jobs
What’s it like working in northern or remote communities? 👥
Remote assignments often involve broader scope of practice, smaller teams, and close collaboration with communities (including Indigenous populations). These roles are rewarding but require adaptability and independence.
Are remote placements supported?
Yes. We provide housing and travel support (depending on the project), plus preparation guidance so you know what to expect before arriving.
Assignments & Contracts
How long are travel nursing contracts? 📝
Most contracts range from 8–26 weeks, depending on the project and location. Extensions are sometimes available.
Do I get to choose where I work?
Yes, you’ll have the opportunity to review available assignments and select the one that best matches your skills, preferences, and lifestyle.
Pay & Benefits
What is the pay rate for travel nurses? 💵
Pay rates vary by province, specialty, and assignment. Compensation details are shared upfront before you commit to a placement.
Are bonuses available?
Some contracts may offer completion bonuses or incentives, but these vary depending on the project.
